Okay…get ready for a some obnoxious horn tootin’ because I’m a little bit proud of myself…If any of you were wondering why I was a little absent from the blog last year, it was because this little business o’ mine grew more last year than any other year. Want some proof? I was published a total of eight times in 2012 which is an all-time high for me. I’m so honored that my work was chosen to be featured in these awesome publications. And a big THANK YOU to the families who participated! You can see these plus earlier published works on my website’s “press” page.

Remember Jack from last November? Dandelion Magazine did a follow-up feature on his amazing story and I was the lucky photographer who got to document it. You can read the full story HERE.

From the Winter 2012/2013 Issue:

I had the honor of having one of my images grace the cover of Sacramento Magazine for their November 2012 issue. I LOVED photographing this stylish family for their fall session.

I loved this shoot! The colors were just right and her striped dress and the pop of red – everything just lined up right. I felt honored for it to be on the cover of the October 2012 issue of Sacramento Parent Magazine.

Hooray! One of my images was selected for the cover of the July issue of Sacramento Parent Magazine! Brogan is the handsome little guy and I couldn’t think of a better face for it (plus, it’s his birthday this month). The magazine should be on stands any day now so make sure to grab a copy!

We were featured on Little Bellows today! What an honor to have my images included along with other such talented photographers. Make sure to check out this darling little “inspired family photography” blog with images from other photographers around the world.

When Sacramento Parent Magazine called to ask me if I could shoot for their cover page for their feature of “The Real Housewives of Sacramento”, I thought that it could be fun to do something outside the box…and it certainly was! We ended up on a balcony overlooking Downtown Sacramento in the penthouse suite of the Citizen Hotel with five stunning moms.

How fun! My image of this handsome duo is on the cover of the April issue of Sacramento Parent Magazine. On stands for one more day…

When I was approached to be featured in Comstock’s on niche marketing, I was so excited! I’m very passionate about this little business o’mine, and marketing it in a way that I really believe in has been a big part of it. I enjoy the subject so much, in fact, that I probably talked the ear off of the reporter who interviewed me, lol!  You can find the online version of this article here.

It was a fun and new (and somewhat strange, lol!) experience to be photographed by another photographer while I was working. My sweet, sweet clients were willing to include the magazine’s photographer in the mix during their newborn session – thank you, Monica and Dan!

Here’s a little peek at the image I was capturing while the shot above was taken. It looks like little miss Natalia was having a pretty good time.

Wow, I haven’t been around the blog much recently…things have been unexpectedly busy around here! January is usually a cold and rainy month, making it a little more difficult to get outside for a shoot, but the weather has been so beautiful, that I’ve been out there shooting my little you-know-what off. (It’s 60 degrees and sunny outside as I write this…on January 31st…crazy!)

The new year started off with a bang with being published in two different magazines (the second one to follow soon). The first was the January issue of Sacramento Parent Magazine. I was fortunate enough to be a participant in an article on tips for taking better pictures of your kids. You can find the online version of the article on the magazine website here.
