Last year, right on the day of my very own birthday, a special little girl was born and she was named Sage. We took her newborn pictures when she was only five days old and then Mom brought her back for her ten month pictures. On that day, I got to capture three generations of girls: Baby Sage, Mom and Grandma.
I have now had the fortune to photograph not only one, but BOTH of this family’s babies for their newborn portraits.
Meet little Miss Kylie. I wanted to take her home with me. Seriously. She’s one of the sweetest, most cuddly babies I have ever met.
You’ve scheduled your photo shoot, but now you’ve got to think about what the kids are going to wear! Ideally, most moms would like to buy outfits that will look super-cute for their pictures but that will also be wearable afterwards. One of the hardest parts of planning outfits (especially for boys) is shoes.
Toms makes this problem easy to solve with their amazingly cute shoes for babies and kids. One of my awesome customers just sent me a picture of these gray and blue ones that she bought for her son. Love them!
Ha ha – I finally had some pictures taken of myself. I figured that since I cut all of my hair off I should at least have a new headshot!

I remember the email I received from this family for their Land Park newborn pictures. Mom had booked another photographer for the shoot but she had ended up calling in sick the day before. So, the next day I got an email from mom asking if I could come on short notice, and it just happened to work out perfectly that someone else had rescheduled so I had an opening that day.
I arrived to their cute little house in Land Park with big sister introducing herself as soon as I walked in the door.
I thought you’d enjoy these brother and sister winter portraits in El Dorado Hills. One of my favorite things to photograph is a sequence of events. Sure, you could do that with video, but there’s something special about freezing that expression in time — it seems to show more in a still photo than it does even in real life.
At first everything was very proper (omg…I love, love her little dimple and his missing tooth!).
Valentine’s Day is only four weeks away! Can you just imagine your kids passing out Valentine’s Day cards to their classroom friends that looked like this?
How cute would that be??? Just sayin’.
This is a also great opportunity for those families who didn’t have a chance to send out Christmas cards last year. You can still show your love by sending out a fun and colorful Valentine’s Day card!

Last year we offered “Grandparent Portrait Sessions” for Mother’s Day and they were a big hit! I know Mother’s Day isn’t until May 12th, but it can’t hurt to plant the seed…ha!

There was something unspeakably sweet about how this big sister hugged her new little sister. Mom and Dad were hovering close by and she slayed us all with her big blue eyes.
