When I arrived at this family’s house for their newborn lifestyle shoot, I knew we are going instantly click (haha – I just realized that is a super cheesy photo-pun). They were funny and relaxed, and it was instantly like hanging out with old friends.

We started by going out to the walking path behind their home in West Sacramento. We got everyone together for the first family picture and Mom said that her girl-pup was kind of upset with her because she wasn’t the “baby” anymore. We held the dog up and she gave them such a sideways look…  It’s cracked us all up! 

Afterwards, we went inside and this wall paper in the nursery was just a photographer’s dream. So gorgeous!

I love to take pictures of the little details. I once had a mom tell me that she didn’t really care about the detail pictures when she first got them, but now that her son is grown, those pictures are some of her most cherished. I always think of that now when I’m taking these shots and how important they might be one day.
