This family session was done at the Empire Mine in Grass Valley, which makes an amazing location for portraits. The old buildings and stonework are fun to photograph in and around, and make great backdrops for fall family portraits.

This particular family session was special to me because this family has been with me since the beginning of my business. I’ve been super fortunate to watch their little boys grow up in front of my lens over the years.

I’m glad I got a chance to photograph them this fall in the gorgeous autumn colors. The boys had a blast running around and playing in the leaves, and overall it was a wonderful day for outdoor fall family photos.
