There’s nothing quite like capturing a family’s first days with their newborn, those fleeting, love-filled moments that will be cherished forever. This beautiful baby girl, the first for her parents, was welcomed with so much love and anticipation. Seeing their joy and tenderness as they held her in their arms was a reminder of just how precious these early moments are.
One of the things that made this session extra sweet was how delicate and expressive she was. Newborns often sleep through their entire session, but we were lucky enough to get some moments with her eyes wide open, taking in the world around her, already so curious and full of wonder.
For many parents, the idea of a newborn photoshoot can feel a little overwhelming, but trust me, it’s way more relaxed than it sounds! Many parents worry about how their newborn will handle a photoshoot—Will they settle? Will they need constant feeding or changing? What if we’re all just too exhausted? These are all completely normal worries! But here’s the good news: newborns call the shots, and that’s totally okay. Need to pause for a feeding? No problem. Baby refusing to settle? We roll with it. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s capturing the sweetness of this moment, just as it is.
This session, set in the soft, natural light of the studio, was the perfect way to document the love and connection of this new family of three. One of my favorite parts of newborn sessions is capturing the little details—the tiny fingers curled around a parent’s hand, the soft wisps of chick-fuzz hair, the way they instinctively snuggle into mom or dad.
These are the moments that pass by in a blur but hold so much meaning. These quiet, intimate portraits are the kind that parents will look back on for years, remembering just how tiny their baby once was.
If you’re expecting and thinking about a newborn session, I’d love to help capture these fleeting moments for you. Let’s create something beautiful together. Reach out to book your session!
