Samantha’s senior session in Fair Oaks was full of spring beauty and sentimental moments! I had the honor of photographing her sister Lexi’s senior portraits two years ago, so getting to work with their family again made this session even more special.
One of the highlights of this session was the gorgeous wildflowers. Spring in Fair Oaks is always beautiful, but finding a spot bursting with color was such a treat!
Wildflowers are unpredictable, often blooming for just a short time each year, so I’m always trying to scout out locations to get the best options for my seniors. When I saw these blooming, I knew they would be the perfect backdrop for Samantha’s senior portraits! We made sure to be mindful of the flowers, sticking to clear paths so we didn’t disturb the natural beauty around us. If you’re looking for hidden photography spots in Sacramento for your own senior portraits, I’ve got plenty of ideas up my sleeve!
We captured a mix of outfits that really showcased this exciting chapter in Samantha’s life. The right outfit choices can add so much personality to a senior session, helping to tell the story of this moment in time
A cap and gown is a classic, symbolizing years of hard work, but adding pieces like college gear, sports uniforms, or letterman’s jackets makes the session feel more personal. Plus, having a mix of outfits ensures a well-rounded gallery that seniors and their families will cherish for years to come.
This session was such a joy, and I’m so excited for Samantha as she steps into this next adventure. It’s always incredible to witness the transition from high school to the next chapter—whether it’s college, a new job, or another exciting journey.
If you’re a senior (or a parent of one!), let’s create a session that celebrates who you are right now. As an outdoor portrait photographer, I love finding beautiful locations and capturing moments that feel natural and timeless. Spring is such a beautiful time for portraits, so reach out soon to book yours!
