I don’t know if it can get much more “fall” than this family session in Rancho Cordova last year! The trees were incredibly vibrant in yellow, orange, and red, and this family’s coordinating burgundy outfits offered the perfect contrast. Sometimes, everything just comes together!

Whenever I do family sessions, I try to incorporate different combinations between parents and children. It gives an opportunity to capture each unique connection and relationship, and I love the different dynamics it brings to the shoot.

These kids were naturals in front of the camera. We had a lot of fun getting our wiggles out together and it made for some fantastic shots.

One of the best parts of fall is the crunchy leaves. This location had them in spades and we enjoyed crunching around and tossing them together. These kinds of action shots always turn out fun!

And of course, it’s migration season. The sky was perfectly blue and showcased these geese beautifully. I had to snap a picture!

Truly, the lighting, the colors, and the outfits could not have been better for this session. The sun shone in just the right spot through the trees.
