I couldn’t have asked for a more genuine and sweet family for this home lifestyle newborn session in Woodland. I knew the moment I walked through their front door that I was about to be let in on a beautiful little corner of the world. The love these two have for each other and their new son was tangible and I felt so fortunate to be able to be there to document it.

Their little boy was about a month old when we did this session, so we skipped the posed photos and just captured him, beautiful eyes wide open, interacting with Mom and Dad.

I love the different shades of blue in these images. The swaddle is a perfect neutral hue to keep it cozy and add enough contrast to the colors around him.

Dad is a musician and he was sweet enough to play us some tunes right at the beginning of the session. It was obvious that music is at the heart of this family — I got teary-eyed just watching them play and sing together. This little boy will be so lucky, growing up in a home filled with music.
