The holidays are finally here, and I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite things from this last year with you. It may give you some gift ideas or it might just help you get to know me better. Either way, I hope you enjoy it!

BOOKS I’VE READ THIS YEAR – I discovered the author Anne Patchett this year and listened to The Dutch House, This Is the Story of a Happy Marriage, and These Precious Days and loved all of them. They are all wonderful audiobooks with good narrators (Tom Hanks narrates The Dutch House and Anne Patchett, herself, narrates the other two).

FAVORITE LOCAL RESTAURANTS – On the higher end, for a night out or special occasion, I highly recommend Canon in East Sacramento and Taste in Plymouth. For quick bites, my go-to spots are El Rincon (Mexican) and Coconut on T (Thai) and you can’t go wrong with Selland’s.

FAVORITE RECENTLY PURCHASED ITEM – After late nights at the computer, I’m taking this before bed for a good night’s sleep.

CURRENT FAVORITE ACCESSORY – I’ve been wearing this watch for a few years now and it’s a winner!

CURRENT FAVORITE CLOTHINGI recently bought these jeans on a whim from J. Crew and they were an instant favorite.

FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCTS – I noticed an almost immediate difference in my skin just looking healthier with this Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum. I like to start with the hydration spray and follow with a mix of the Vitamin C Serum and the Facial Oil both morning and evening. Perfect for dry or acne-prone skin.

FAVORITE HOME ITEMS – For my birthday this year, I bought myself a set of four custom ceramic mugs from the talented Ayla Mullen and they were such a treat!

FAVORITE KITCHEN TOOLS – This was a splurge, but it’s the best non-toxic non-stick skillet I’ve ever owned (and I’ve tried a few). I use it to make breakfast every morning. We recently bought this little trash can when the city started to collect compostable trash. It hooks on to a cabinet door!

FAVORITE PET ITEMS – We got this name tag for our puppy and it’s the best dog tag I’ve ever had. I love that it’s silicon so it’s silent when he’s scurrying around! Our puppy has even managed to chew on it with little damage. This is not my dog, but he’s pretty close! Lol  We also appreciate this waterproof throw to keep our sofa nice and clean (great for dogs!)

FAVORITE PIECE OF CAMERA EQUIPMENT – This is the most compact (and just plain cool) tripod I’ve ever owned, and it comes in Aluminum and Carbon Fiber.

FAVORITE GIFT YOU’RE GIVING THIS YEAR – There are so many enjoyable things to do in Sacramento, so I like to gift experiences like movie tickets to Tower Theater, a gift certificate to a nice restaurant, or an hour massage.

I’d love to hear what YOUR favorite things are from the last year! Comment below with all of your recommendations. Happy shopping!
